What’s poppin’, y’all? Did you miss me? I know I’ve been absent for a hot minute, but of course, I had to return with everything that’s going on in the month of November (and we’re not quite two weeks in yet!)
So, as you all know, Election Day has come and gone (nearly a week ago, but y’all know I’m always late as hell), and as of 2:30 AM, the morning of Wed. Nov. 6, 2024, Donald J. Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States of America.
Yay.

So, what are my thoughts? First, I pretty much saw this coming. I was hoping Kamala would win, but deep down, I figured that Mr. Trump would be the victor this election. Vice-President Harris came into the election pretty late and didn’t have a lot of time to really establish her campaign, although I must say that she killed it during her debate against President-elect Trump. Also, Mr. Trump has a good many followers, and they rallied behind him the moment he announced he was running again. Then, there’s the fact that Vice-President Harris is a woman. I honestly don’t believe that America is ready and/or doesn’t really want a female president, which is pretty backward, in my humble opinion. When Kamala first announced that she was going to be running, people mentioned that if Senator Hillary Clinton didn’t win, then Vice-President Harris didn’t have a chance in hell of winning. Sadly, they were right.
Secondly, I hope to God that Mr. Trump is only going to execute his Agenda 47 plan (although there’s some facets of it I don’t agree with), and won’t allow the Republican members of the House and/or Senate convince him to back Project 2025. If what I’ve heard is true (the official site claims it isn’t), the outline of that initiative is truly frightening.
Third, I don’t think this election was rigged or that Trump cheated. I think he won fair and square. Like I said before, he had a lot of supporters behind him, and had ample time to build his campaign. On the flip side, the soon-to-be former vice-president had a little over three months to make her mark in the election. Not only did Donald Trump have a lot of constituents, but I came across followers of his from all races: black, white, Puerto Rican, everybody just a freakin’ (a kiss to whomever understands that reference). Besides, I haven’t heard of anything shady going on with ballot boxes or voters being turned away for BS reasons. It looks like this was a straightforward victory.
So what’s next for me? I go on. I survived before, and I will continue to survive. I’m not about to leave the country or anything like that. Shoot, even if I wanted to leave, how would I do it? Where would I go, and with what money? I’m staying here. This is my home…my imperfect, and at times mooked up home, but my home nonetheless. If Mr. Trump is the president is the leader that so many people chose and believe we need today, now is the time for him to prove himself. I’m not sure what the future will bring, but I hope and pray that it’s a thriving and healthy one. Some of you may say I’m a fool for saying that, but as Andy Dufresne once said, “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” I’ll stay prayed up, and continue to write, laugh, and just be me. Peace and love, y’all. ❤☮
